Clinton Camp: ‘Very Frightening’ Trump Encouraging Russia to Influence Outcome of the Election
Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” while commenting on Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump joking that Russia should hack his rival Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s emails, Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook said he found it “very frightening” that Trump was encouraging foreign powers to try to “influence the outcome of the election.” Mook said, “I think what’s very disturbing about this entire situation is first that there’s a foreign power, aggressively breaking in to data systems trying to apparently influence the out come of the campaign, but then we saw the other day that Donald Trump made comments to actually encouraging more of this behavior, more espionage in the race. I think every voter needs to take note of this and I find it very frightening that any presidential campaign for any reason is encouraging this kind of behavior. That’s not becoming of someone who is trying to become our commander chief and president of the United States.” He added, “Trump said this was a joke after it came under pressure. I’m not quite sure how credible that is. Look, he’s running to be president of the United States, the person in charge of all of our armed forces, the
David Brooks: Trump’s Campaign Is ‘Based on Bigotry’
Sunday on NBC’s “Meet The Press,” New York Times columnist David Brooks said Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s campaign was “based on bigotry.” Brooks said, “One final point. this wasn’t just a comment about Mr. Khan. This is a campaign based on bigotry. His campaign took off after San Bernardino and banning Muslims from coming here. We just saw the face of Muslims, that is the reality;. I know what temperament means. Attention is the ultimate act of self control. The guy can’t control his attention span. His mind goes bing, bing, bing, bing to one thing after another and it’s just a dangerous prospect in a president to have somebody who just can’t control what’s going to come out of his mouth in the next 30 seconds.” Follow Pam Key on Twitter @pamkeyNEN

On this weekend’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” when confronted with video of FBI director James Comey saying during her tenure as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did send classified information over her private unsecured email server, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said the emails in question were classified “retroactively.” Clinton said, “That’s not what I heard director Comey say, and I thank you for giving me the opportunity in my view clarify. Director Comey said my answers were truthful, and what I’ve said is consistent with what I have told the American people, that there were decisions discussed and made to classify retroactively certain of the e-mails. I was communicating with over 300 people in my e-mailing. They certainly did not believe and no reason to believe that what they were sending was classified. In retrospect, different agencies come in and say, well, it should have been, but that’s not what was happening in real time.” When confronted with video from a congressional hearing on July 7 of Comey directly contradicting her, Clinton said, “Well, Chris, I looked at the whole transcript of everything that was said, and what I believe is, number one, I made a mistake not
