Sanders on Hillary Wall Street Ties: It’s a ‘Fact,’ Not a Smear
Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation” Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), said his criticisms of rival Hillary Clinton’s ties to Wall Street are not a smear as Clinton has charged but a “fact.” Partial transcript as follows: DICKERSON: You have talked a lot about the donations Hillary Clinton receives from the financial service sector. In the most recent debate, she called that an artful smear. What is your response to that? SANDERS: It’s a fact. When in the last reporting period her super PAC received $25 million and $15 million came from Wall Street, what is the smear? That is the fact. DICKERSON: Well, she says you can’t point to a single vote that she changed or an opinion that she changed. Can you? SANDERS: Yes, I know. Nobody who takes — or has a super PAC, nobody who gets money, whether it’s Republican or Democrat, from the pharmaceutical industry, from the fossil fuel industry, from Wall Street, there’s never been a politician in history who said, that money influences me. It’s just people are throwing millions ever dollars into the campaign, but there’s no reason why they’re throwing that money into the campaign. I think, you know,

Andrea Mitchell: ‘Stunning’ Hillary Has Lost The Base And The Woman Vote
Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” reporter and commentator for NBC News and host of MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Report,” Andrea Mitchell said it was “stunning” Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton ” has lost the base,” and also that she’s lost women. Mitchell said, “The party has moved. This is — it reminds me of 1972, actually. And she has lost the base. And she’s lost the women. And that is what is so stunning here in New Hampshire. And they are really — they can’t figure out how to combat that. So, to try to attract young women, who she lost by such extraordinary numbers in Iowa and in the polling so far. Here, she brings in women senators who by definition are part of the establishment and there’s no female Marco Rubio. You have to be an older woman to become a senator, because the deck is so stacked against you. That’s just the reality. So you’ve got women senators, you’ve got Madeline Albright, who, you know, to validate her foreign policy credentials and criticize his. But, these people — and the frustration of Madeline Albright and of Hillary Clinton, is why don’t these young women realize what we
AP’s Pace: Hillary Is ‘Most Vulnerable’ on Wall Street Speaking Fees
On “Fox News Sunday” White House Correspondent for The Associated Press, Julie Pace said Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is “most vulnerable,” over her big speaking fees and millions of dollars in campaign contributions from Wall Street. Partial transcript as follows: PACE: I think it’s where she’s most vulnerable. I think put the e- mails aside. I know that everyone wants to talk about that. I think opinions on that are baked in. But she doesn’t have a good answer on why she accepted the money for these speaking fees, I think in part because there isn’t a great answer. It was widely expected that she would run for president and she still went to these banks. We haven’t seen what she said when she spoke to Wall Street executives. And every time that Bernie Sanders brings that up, it reinforces a narrative about her, but also a narrative about him. WALLACE: Do — do you think because it came up in the debate whether she would release the transcripts — and I love that her pollsters said I don’t think voters are interested, like he’s going to decide what voters are interested in — do you think she can
Hillary: Rubio’s Abortion Attacks on Me Are ‘Pathetic’
Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said Republican presidential candidate Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) attacks on her abortion position were “pathetic.” Clinton said, “Well I think It’s pretty pathetic. This is something that illustrates how Sen. Rubio has just been going as far as he can to try to, I guess, buttress his credentials with certain parts of the Republican constituency. I’ve been on record for years about where I stand on making abortions safe and legal, the exceptions that are appropriate that should be looked into, and the very difficult choices that a very few woman have to confront.” Follow Pam Key on Twitter @pamkeyNEN
