Hillary Warns About The Dangers Of Foreign Hackers Stealing Info From Private Soft Targets

Tuesday on WTAE-TV Pittsburgh’s Action News 4, reporter Bob Mayo asked presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton about today’s news that Russian hackers reportedly hacked the Democratic National Committee’s computer and email systems. Clinton replied by claiming to be “focused on cyber security” and preventing hackers from Russia, Iran and North Korea from “stealing information” from non-government “soft targets” such as the DNC or private business, or possibly a private unsecured server in a home. Partial transcript as follows: MAYO: We are hearing breaking news. Apparently Russian hackers infiltrated the DNC computers, got some opposition research, got some information about your campaign— your response to that news? CLINTON: Well, we are just hearing the same and it is deeply troubling, but it’s an issue that we have to address. I’m focused on cyber security. You know, Russian hackers, and the report is they probably work for the Russian government, are in the business of stealing information to try and give the Russian government economic, commercial, political, military advantages. We know that and we’ve got to do everything we can to stop them. Now soft targets like the DNC is not as equipped to prevent them as the Department of Defense is. But we got to
