Business As Usual: Team Obama Takes Gloves Off First After Aurora
Not even 24 hours after President Barack Obama spoke to the nation after meeting with the victims of the tragedy in Aurora (Mitt Romney said what Obama did was "the right thing to do"), Obama's chief political strategist, David Axelrod, took to Twitter this morning to attack Mitt Romney on his tax returns, ending the detente between the Romney and Obama campaigns that had ensured after the Aurora tragedy.
Because Obama cannot run on his record, his campaign must tear Romney down to win. On the airwaves, 99% of the ads run by the Obama campaign have been negative. And while the Obama campaign has requested that their negative ads in Colorado not run for another week, the same principle has not carried over to Twitter.
