Tea Party Responds to SCOTUS ObamaCare Decision: It’s All About The Election Now

Tea party leaders from around the country reacted with shock and determination to today's Supreme Court decision that largely upheld ObamaCare.

Jon Wakefield, a tea party activist who has worked with the Richmond Tea Party since it's inception, reacted to the decision emphatically:

"Now that ObamaCare has been upheld, all of us must dedicate our lives, no matter the cost, to wringing every last conservative vote out of Virginia on November 6th. We must recruit like crazy for people to pound the pavement, purge the rolls, work the polls, and deliver a total smackdown of the progressives who have now granted government the power to control the purchasing habits of Americans. The facts, numbers, and passion are on our side.

"I watched a Frank Luntz focus group last night on Hannity with 2/3 Obama supporters and almost all of them wanted ObamaCare overturned. This is our last chance, and it is THE chance to convince average Americans of all backgrounds that government has grown WAY too big and to join with us in helping elect conservatives who will overturn this progressive garbage -- and everything else. And we will be energized to go all the way beyond this election and restore America to what she was meant to be before it's too late.

"We can get this done. It's up to us. Let's do it."

In Connecticut, tea party leader Tanya Bachand, who is also an attorney, was equally resolute:

"Today we steel our spines and double our resolve. We will march forward with unrelenting determination, just as we have for three years. We always knew it was our elected leaders who brought us to this point of federal overreach into our lives, and therefore nothing in this decision will keep us from working to elect leaders who will revere individual liberty, not continue the slow slide to socialism"

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli echoed the sentiments of both Wakefield and Bachand, calling the Supreme Court decision "a dark day for liberty in America."
