Curiosity Starts its Drive to Its First Science Target: Glenelg
Curiosity handlers at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory reported Wednesday that on Aug. 28, the mobile laboratory on Mars traveled about 52 feet, and started its weeks-long trekk to cover a distance of about a quarter of a mile. Destination: Glenelg. This is a region where different kinds of terrain intersect, and where the rover team plans to choose its first rock target for drilling and analysis.
