House Suddenly Votes to Adjourn by Unanimous Consent under Pressure from Obama
The House of Representatives, which only last Thursday had voted not to recess, yesterday reversed that decision without debate or explanation, and quickly approved a resolution that calls for the adjournment of the lower chamber until early September.
Last week every Democrat and 78 Republicans had voted to stay in session during August.
