Carney Hasn’t Had Discussion With Obama About Controversial Cancer Ad
Despite addressing the ads -- although dodging when asked to condemn it -- White House press secretary Jay Carney says he has not had a conversation with President Obama about the Priorities USA "cancer" ad or the Romney campaign ad on welfare.
REPORTER: Has the president seen the Romney campaign's welfare ad?
CARNEY: I don't know.
REPORTER: How about the Priorities USA ad?
CARNEY: I don't know. I mean, I haven't ask him -- I haven't had a discussion with him and I haven't seen him.
CHUCK TODD, NBC NEWS: After all these questions this week about whether you guys condemn the ad, you haven't asked him whether --
CARNEY: I haven't had a discussion with him about it. And I haven't seen him watch any ads.
TODD: -- about whether he wants to condemn the ads? Is that worth asking?
CARNEY: I don't have an idea and I haven't had a discussion with him about it.
TODD: Would you do that for us?
