Bruce Jenner is set to join the cast of Amazon’s Emmy-winning show Transparent, the show’s creator confirmed Saturday. In an interview at the GLAAD Media Awards over the weekend, showrunner Jill Soloway confirmed that the reality TV star and former Olympian would appear in the show’s upcoming third season, though offered few details about the character Jenner will play. “We are all part of the same community,” Soloway told the Associated Press. “A lot of the transwomen who work on our show are also in her show I Am Cait. Lots of crossover. Lots of friends.” The news came on the heels of Transparent‘s win for Outstanding Comedy Series at the annual GLAAD awards Saturday night. The show centers on the family of transgender woman Maura Pfefferman (played by Jeffrey Tambor), who must navigate the family patriarch’s transition. Jenner’s E! reality series, I Am Cait, tied with TLC’s I Am Jazz for Outstanding Reality Series at the GLAAD Awards on Saturday. Soloway had invited Jenner to appear on the show ahead of its second season last year. The showrunner told Variety in June that her show was part of a “revolution” in how trans people are perceived and depicted on television.
