On Monday’s “The Kelly File” on the Fox News Channel, guest host Trish Regan asked Evan McMullin, a former CIA officer who has announced a run for president as a third-party conservative if he was OK with Hillary Clinton picking Supreme Court justices. Partial transcript as follows: REGAN: So, why are you getting in now? MCMULLIN: Well, I’m getting in now because I firmly believe that both candidates are woefully unprepared and woefully unfit for the responsibilities that they seek, and I think our country is desperate for a new generation of leadership. I think that’s clear. Americans are so unsatisfied with the direction of the country, and then to have two candidates whose negatives are so high. There’s just a lot of frustration out there. Americans feel –. REGAN: But, again, I guess I just question the timing of it, because apparently 26 states have already basically closed the opportunity for you to get on the ballot there.
