GOP presidential candidate Marco Rubio spoke Sunday on Fox News Channel’s “On the Record” about his first day as president if elected. Rubio told show host Greta Van Susteren that on his first day in office he would “repeal every single one of Barack Obama’s unconstitutional amendments,” as well as cancel the deal with Iran. “I’m going to repeal every single one of Barack Obama’s unconstitutional amendments. That means the end to all these EPA rulings, the end to DAPA, the end to DACA as well, eventually. That needs to wind down. Also, the end to this federal funding of abortions overseas. That has to come to an end immediately as well, so we look forward to getting rid of all those things. The deal with Iran. I’ll cancel it on my first day in office.” Follow Trent Baker on Twitter @MagnifiTrent

Krauthammer: GOP Race Could Tighten After Iowa, New Hampshire
Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer gave his take on the GOP presidential nominee race on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Election HQ” on Sunday. According to Krauthammer, Trump’s supporters are the most “hardcore” among the GOP presidential candidates, but he said only 7 percent of the polled caucus-goers have him as their second choice, while other candidates have all received a higher percentage. “It suggests that whoever can get through Iowa, even perhaps through New Hampshire, they have room to grow much more than Trump,” he explained. “The reason is that the Trump is support is very hardcore, very loyal. Again, can he grow beyond that? If the others get through you could see them collecting the votes of the ones who are winnowed out of the field and that would make it a very tight two-way race or three-way race.” Follow Trent Baker on Twitter @MagnifiTrent
Cam Newton: ‘I Didn’t Mean’ My Comments ‘As a Race Thing’
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton gave an interview with ESPN’s Trey Wingo during halftime of the NFL’s Pro Bowl Sunday. Newton sparked some controversy last week with his comments about being an African-American quarterback who may scare some people because cannot be compared to any other quarterbacks previously seen. The 2015 NFL MVP front-runner explained his comments by saying he did not mean for them to come off racially charged, but rather that he did not want to be labeled as a quarterback like he was when he was coming out of college at Auburn. “I said that I’m not a person that can necessarily be labeled because when I was coming out, I was labeled to guys that no longer are in this league,” Newton said. “I didn’t mean it to come off as a race thing; I didn’t mean it to come off as anybody that’s being brash or flamboyant about a specific question. I was saying facts. I am hoping to be a trail blazer to give an avenue not only for African-American quarterbacks, but athletic quarterbacks as well.” Follow Trent Baker on Twitter @MagnifiTrent

Sanders Campaign: Clinton Is ‘Infiltrating’ Iowa Caucus With Out-of-State Staffers
The Bernie Sanders campaign is claiming that Hillary Clinton is “infiltrating” Monday’s Iowa caucus with paid out-of-state workers in a last-ditch effort to mobilize pro-Clinton voters. Sanders’ campaign manager, Jeff Weaver, said that the Clinton campaign is “infiltrating the caucuses with out-of-state paid staffers,” according to Yahoo News. Weaver cited a letter that a Sanders supporter in Hawarden, Iowa, received from the Clinton campaign that named a man named Morgan Luther as the Clinton precinct captain, even though Luther is not a resident of the state of Iowa. “Coming from Sioux City into the Hawarden caucus and trying to influence the voters in the Hawarden caucus, I don’t know what the rules are, but it certainly is irregular,” the man who received the letter told Yahoo News. Using out-of-state precinct captains is not against the rules. Clinton is running neck-in-neck in Iowa with Sanders, who has pulled to within the margin of error in both the Iowa State University/WHO-HD poll and also the final Des Moines Register poll. Sanders held a concert Saturday night in the college town of Iowa City with the band ‘Vampire Weekend.’ Bill Clinton was in Iowa City Sunday at a smaller event.
