Martin Sheen to Produce TV Series Claiming ‘O.J. Is Innocent’
Veteran actor Martin Sheen will produce and narrate a new documentary television series exploring new evidence in the infamous O.J. Simpson case that producers say could be enough to prove that the former football star was completely innocent of any crime. Investigation Discovery has greenlit the documentary Hard Evidence: O.J. Is Innocent for a six-episode series slated to premiere early next year, according to Variety. The project is reportedly based on the two-decade investigative work on the Simpson case done by Dallas-based private investigator William Dear, who authored the 2012 book O.J. Is Innocent and I Can Prove It. The new series comes as interest in the case has reignited following the debut of the popular FX limited series The People vs. O.J. Simpson earlier this year. “Hard Evidence is just that – it may be hard for many of us to accept a fresh perspective and new angle to the story that has transfixed our nation for decades,” Investigation Discovery group president Henry Schleiff said in a statement. “With an intriguing theory based on new and never disclosed details, Hard Evidence will leave viewers second-guessing everything they have ever known about the case, questioning yet again – did he

Dem Rep: ‘Ultimate Punishment’ Is If Trump Elected President
Thursday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” while discussing Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s comments about potentially punishing woman who have abortions, and after calling him “deranged,” Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) said the “ultimate punishment for women in this country would be if Donald Trump gets elected president.” Speier said, “At this point, I don’t think you can describe Donald Trump in any way but deranged. Deranged Donald should be his label. He has made it so crystal clear that he thinks of women as chattel. And the fact that women would be punished for having a legal procedure is unbelievable to me.” She continued, “I think women would find ways to terminate those pregnancies if in fact it was not in keeping with their needs, with their health care provider, or with their particular point in their lives. Family planning is a great way to prevent abortions. And yet, we have actually seen a reduction in family planning services in this country by figures that suggest it’s less than what we had in 1980. So not only do they want to cut down on abortions and prevent a woman from accessing abortions, they want women to not be able to get
Bank Of America Bans Use Of Word ‘Brexit’, Reverses Decision To Donate To Remain Campaign
Bank of America has told its senior staff not to use the word ‘Brexit’ when talking with clients in an attempt to avoid the debate over the UK’s membership of the European Union (EU). Bank of America (BofA) — a multinational banking and financial services corporation — last week warned its managers “not to provide opinions, not to influence voters, not to assume a particular result and not to engage in campaigning” ahead of Britain’s referendum in June on whether to leave the EU, reports the Financial Times. It has been explained that the bank’s advice is “not an attempt to muzzle or control staff” but instead an attempt to avoid the limelight shone on some other corporate backers, and to respect UK electoral law. As such BofA has also reversed its position on financing the pro-EU Remain campaign. Following the lead of Goldman Sachs — the investment bank which in January donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to those fighting to keep the UK in the EU — BofA announced in February it had made plans to donate nearly £100,000 to the campaign for Britain to stay in the EU. In doing so they would have lined up with other U.S. banking giants such as JPMorgan Chase and
Garry Shandling to be Honored as Monk at Buddhist Funeral
According to TMZ, late comedian and actor Garry Shandling was a devout Buddhist and asked to be posthumously honored as a monk at his upcoming funeral. The entertainment news and gossip site reports Jewish-born Shandling, who died suddenly a week ago at age 66, made private funeral arrangements before his death with the help of a trusted employee. TMZ reports Shandling wished to be dressed casually at his funeral, where he will achieve monk status by having his shaved during the ceremony by another monk. Shandling will then be interred with a card that outlines the “Five Precepts of Buddha.” It is not clear if the former Larry Sanders Show star will be buried or cremated, as both options are acceptable in the Buddist faith. Food will be served afterward—as requested by Sanders—and those who were closest to him will begin a 49-day Buddhist mourning period. Garry Shandling died on March 24 after calling an ambulance to his Los Angeles home. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His cause of death has not been immediately determined, although TMZ reported Shandling might have suffered a heart attack.
