Despite all the hysteria from media and political elites that claimed the UK would stagnate if British voters passed Brexit to leave the EU, it turns out that UK stocks are higher a week later while the other stock markets are still down.

Trump Jokes Noisy Plane Is Mexico ‘Getting Ready to Attack’
Thursday in Manchester, NH, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump joked that a noisy plane that interpreted his speech was Mexico “getting ready to attack.” Trump said, “Mexico, and I respect Mexico, I respect their leaders, what they’ve done to us is incredible. Their leaders are so much smarter, so much sharper. And it’s incredible.” As a noisy plane flew by, Trump pointed to the sky and said, “In fact, that could be a Mexican plane up there, they’re getting ready to attack.” (h/t Politico) Follow Pam Key on Twitter @pamkeyNEN
Senate to Vote on Legislation Inspired by Kathryn Steinle Next Week
Friday marks the one-year anniversary of the murder of Kathryn Steinle and next week the Senate is slated to consider legislation offered in response to her death. On tap for the Senate will be a bill offered by Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) targeting the funding for sanctuary cities, or jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration officials. “My legislation stands for the simple proposition that the safety of the American people matters,” Toomey explained this week. “The life of Kate Steinle matters,” he continued. “Protecting our neighborhoods from violent criminals and terrorists matters. As the Steinles observe the tragic anniversary of their daughter’s death Friday, they deserve to know that we care about that loss too. We must do what we can to prevent another senseless and avoidable death.” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) will also get a vote next week on Kate’s Law, which would impose a mandatory minimum sentence of five years for illegal immigrants who reenter the U.S. illegally. “The reason I introduced Kate’s Law was because the Obama administration is failing to adequately deter illegal aliens who have already been deported from reentering the country illegally,” Cruz said in a statement. “The problem of illegal immigration

Day After Vowing to Get Sober By July 1, Manziel Caught Smoking ‘Suspicious Looking Cigarette’
A day after troubled former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel vowed to TMZ that he would get sober on July 1, he was caught in Cabo San Lucus smoking a “suspicious looking cigarette” after reportedly stopping by a Mexican pharmacy. Good morning from Manziel pic.twitter.com/K9TJodyrRi — Busted Coverage (@bustedcoverage) June 30, 2016 During his Mexico vacation this week, Manziel had to explain that he did not know a woman, who is staying in the same mansion as he is during his vacation, who posted what appeared to be photos of drugs on social media. Since Manziel was released by the Browns due to his heavy partying and numerous off-field issues, he has gotten into even more trouble. Since March, Manziel has reportedly been “charged with misdemeanor assault, has been in two car accidents and has allegedly trashed a luxury home in the Hollywood hills, for which he’s being sued.” His lead attorney who was representing him in his domestic violence case left after he accidentally sent a text meant for Manziel’s legal team to an Associated Press reporter in which he questioned whether Manziel could stay sober. Manziel’s own father recently told ESPN that his son is a “druggie” and “needs help.”
Romney: GOP Can’t Win By Speaking Only to Elderly White Voters
In an interview with CBS’s “Face the Nation” moderator John Dickerson at the Aspen Ideas Festival, 2012 GOP presidential nominee and former Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA) said Republicans will stop winning until they try and appeal to “millennials, minorities and women” by speaking to more than ” largely white audiences” who are “65 and older.” Romney said.”We are not appealing to the growing population of America, the growing demographic populations like we have to, millennials, minorities, these are two huge groups, women….we have succeeded electorally in some parts because the fastest part of the demographic growth profile today is people 65 and older. And we can do pretty good with them. But they are not going to be around forever. And where we are not doing so well is with millennials, young people and with the large and growing minority populations. And until we can connect with those populations, we’re going to have some difficulty electorally. And part of my problem was to win the nomination, which is a year long process or longer — you speak to people who vote in Republican primaries. And they tend not to be millennials or college student or minorities, so I’m speaking to largely
