Candidate Donald Trump promised to reform the nation’s cheap-labor immigration strategy, and President Donald Trump unveiled the merit-based immigration reform plan on Wednesday. Here are seven major features of the new merit-based economic and immigration legislation. 1. The Senate bill was jointly drafted by two GOP Senators who were elected in the 2014 wave.
