In this week’s “Saturday Night Live” on NBC, Kate McKinnon as Hillary Clinton delivered a message to her supporters after a string of primary losses to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). McKinnon’s Hillary said the recent losses “humanizes” her, making her the new “underdog.” She then concluded her message, “I would be the strongest candidate to up against Donald Trump face to face or go up against Ted Cruz face to whatever that is you call up there.” Follow Trent Baker on Twitter @MagnifiTrent

To Sanders and Clinton: Black Lives Matter, But Not More than Black Votes
Bill Clinton’s commandment that Black Lives Matter activists should “tell the truth” about black criminality would likely be heeded if it were directed at the generation of blacks that voted for him. But the generation protesting now did not see or feel the impact of high crime that caused the passage of the 1994 crime bill Clinton signed into law before they were even born. If, indeed, black lives matter, then Hillary, not Bill, would have been the Clinton caught on camera clashing with America’s most pathetic grievance group. The truth is, however, that for Hillary Clinton — and Bernie Sanders, for the matter — black lives don’t matter as much as black votes. On this year-long horror show one could call the Democratic presidential pandering tour, there have been innumerable opportunities for either Sanders or Clinton to tell the truth about the real issues haunting large swaths of black population centers across the country. In February, Sanders and Clinton missed their chance to tell the truth about the fact that in 2011, 2012, and 2013 (the latest years data is available) black people made up less than 30 percent of South Carolina’s total population but committed nearly three times as many murders and robberies as white South Carolinians who
The Root’s Jason Johnson: Black Voters ‘Don’t Feel Like They Have a Choice’ in the Presidential Race
Saturday on MSNBC, The Root’s politics editor Dr. Jason Johnson reacted to former President Bill Clinton’s comments on Black Lives Matter, saying it did “tremendous harm” to his wife and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. According to Johnson, Bill Clinton’s comments will not keep black voters from voting for his wife because they “don’t feel they have a choice” in the presidential race. “[Bill Clinton] did tremendous harm for Hillary Clinton, but he does this all of the time. He can’t stop talking. And he can’t stop fighting,” Johnson stated. “The only benefit that the Clintons have whenever Bill Clinton goes off script, whether in 2008 or now, is the fact that many African-American voters don’t feel that they have a choice. So no matter how ill and ridiculous Bill Clinton gets, black folk are probably still gonna vote for Hillary Clinton because Bernie Sanders hasn’t gotten enough…” Follow Trent Baker on Twitter @MagnifiTrent
Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx: Hillary the ‘Best’ to ‘Continue the Changes’ of Obama
On Saturday, Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx said on MSNBC that he feels Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is the “best and strongest” candidate “to continue the changes” brought on by President Barack Obama. “I do feel very strongly that the changes that President Obama brought into being in 2008 and 2012 are on the line in this campaign. I do believe that Secretary Clinton is the best and strongest for us to continue the changes that President Obama has brought into place,” Foxx explained. Follow Trent Baker on Twitter @MagnifiTrent
Feminist Camille Paglia: Abortion Has Become ‘Ideological Tool’ of Democrat Party to Drive Votes
Feminist Camille Paglia rakes her Democratic Party over the coals for using abortion as an “ideological tool” to raise campaign cash and drive votes. At Salon, Paglia offers a brief history of “the abortion wars,” inspired, in part, by what she calls “the abortion tar pit” fallen into by both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton this past week: Trump blundered his way through a manic inquisition about abortion by MSNBC’s resident woodpecker, Chris Matthews, while Hillary committed an unforced error on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” where she referred to the fetus as an “unborn person,” scandalizing the vast pro-choice lobby, who treat all attempts to “humanize” the fetus as a diabolical threat to reproductive rights. Paglia is a known critic of Clinton’s candidacy. In 2013, she told Salon: It remains baffling how anyone would think that Hillary Clinton (born the same year as me) is our party’s best chance. She has more sooty baggage than a 90-car freight train. And what exactly has she ever accomplished — beyond bullishly covering for her philandering husband? She’s certainly busy, busy and ever on the move — with the tunnel-vision workaholism of someone trying to blot out uncomfortable private thoughts. In January, Paglia
Brooks: Hillary May Be A Lot Of Things, But ‘Unqualified’ ‘Is Not One of Them’
New York Times columnist David Brooks argued that “Whatever else” Democratic presidential candidate former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “may be, unqualified, at least by any conventional measure, is not one of them” on Friday’s “PBS NewsHour.” Brooks said Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) “made a decision early on, I think the wrong decision, to take the email issue off the table, and take a bunch of issues off the table, and not go after Hillary Clinton. And so he really wasn’t as tough on her as he could be. Now he’s going after her, to me, on the least promising possible grounds, that she’s unqualified. Whatever else Hillary Clinton may be, unqualified, at least by any conventional measure, is not one of them. And so I’m a little mystified.” Follow Ian Hanchett on Twitter @IanHanchett
Obama: We’re Taking Steps To Ensure ‘Everybody Plays By the Same Rules’
President Obama touted rules “crack down” on “conflicts of interest” by retirement advisors and “big corporations that change their address overseas after acquiring smaller companies” by saying that his administration took steps to ensure “everybody plays by the same rules” during Saturday’s Weekly Address. Transcript as Follows: “Hi everybody. Over the past seven years, we haven’t just been recovering from crisis, we’ve been rebuilding our economy on a new foundation for growth – growth that benefits everybody, not just folks at the top. Our businesses have created jobs for 73 straight months – 14.4 million new jobs in all. We’ve covered another 20 million Americans with health insurance. We’ve helped more Americans afford college, and invested in industries that create good jobs that pay well, like clean energy. And wages are finally rising again. But there will always be more work to do. And this week, my Administration took two big steps that will help make sure your hard work is rewarded, and that everybody plays by the same rules. First, we’re helping more Americans retire with security and dignity. Right now, if you go to a retirement advisor for investment advice, some of them don’t have to act in
Weekly Address: Playing by the Same Rules
In this week’s address, the President highlighted two specific steps the Administration took this week to make sure everyone plays by the same rules. First, in order to help more Americans retire with the security they have earned, the Department of Labor finalized a rule that will ensure retirement advisers compete based on the quality of advice they give rather than acting in their own financial interests.
In addition, the Treasury Department took action this week to crack down on corporations that take advantage of inversions, a loophole that allows some businesses to avoid paying their fair share in taxes here at home. These actions underscore the President’s belief that we should continue to build an economy where everyone gets a fair shot, does their fair share, and plays by the same rules.

Maher: Gun Manufacturers Shouldn’t Be Liable For Gun Crimes, Hillary’s Playing ‘The Dead Kid Card’
HBO’s “Real Time” host Bill Maher argued that gun manufacturers should not be liable for gun crimes, and expressed disgust over Democratic presidential candidate former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton playing the dead kid card” to argue to the contrary on Friday. Maher said, in reaction to Clinton’s tweet that “[Democratic presidential candidate Senator] Bernie Sanders (I-VT) prioritized gun manufacturers’ rights over the parents of the children killed at Sandy Hook.” “Really? We got to play the dead kid card? And what happened was, Bernie was asked, should a victim of a crime committed with a gun be able to sue the gun manufacturer? And Bernie said no. And he’s right. A gun is a legal product.” Max Brooks, a Non-Resident Fellow at West Point Military Academy, added, “And the guns do exactly what they’re supposed to do. There’s no lie. It’s not like the tobacco industry. They say, this product will kill lots of people very, very quickly, and they do. It’s who lets them be released to the general public. You know, the assault rifles are military grade weapons, and the military doesn’t let them have them on day one. You have to go through months of training to
Planned Parenthood, ACLU Sue Indiana Over Law Banning Abortions of Down Syndrome Babies
Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky and the ACLU are suing the state of Indiana over its new law that bans abortions sought for genetic abnormalities such as Down syndrome, or for undesirable sex or race. The lawsuit, filed in federal court, also challenges a provision of the law that requires aborted babies to be buried or cremated, a direct response to the practice of abortion clinics contracting with waste management companies that ultimately burn aborted babies with biohazard medical waste. “The United States Supreme Court has repeatedly stressed that a woman, not the state, is to determine whether or not to obtain an abortion,” ACLU of Indiana legal director Ken Falk said, reports CBS News. “The State of Indiana’s attempt to invade a woman’s privacy and to control her decision in this regard is unprecedented and unconstitutional.” Republican Gov. Mike Pence’s signature on the bill last month made Indiana only the second state in the nation, following North Dakota, to prohibit abortions for fetal abnormalities. The new law sparked a social media campaign called “Periods for Pence,” which asked women to call Pence’s office to talk about their menstrual periods with him. According to Pence’s deputy press secretary, Stephanie Hodgin,
