WTAS: Murphy “Not Ready For Prime Time”

Watch: Miami Herald’s Patricia Mazzei Rips Murphy on Debates

Miami Herald’s Patricia Mazzei:I’m not sure [Patrick Murphy] wants to debate period.” I’m not sure he wants to debate period. He didn’t debate Alan Grayson; it probably would have been good practice.

Politico’s Marc Caputo: Murphy Might Not Be Ready For Prime Time

POLITICO’s Marc Caputo: “[Patrick Murphy’s] either not ready for prime time or his handlers don’t think he’s ready for prime time.” He’s either not ready for prime time or his handlers don’t think he’s ready for prime time. One of Murphy’s problems is not many people know who he is, people know who Marco Rubio is. If you’re not known in politics and someone offers you an opportunity to get known, like being on a debate stage, you take it. Normally, the frontrunner, in this case, Marco Rubio, would not be issuing the challenge, he’d be ducking the challenge. And the guy whose trailing, in this case, Patrick Murphy, would be saying, ‘Hey, debate me!’ And it’s been totally reversed. … Patrick Murphy’s real response [to debates] should be ‘Yes!’

This Week in South FL” Panel Rips Murphy On Debates & Resume Lies

Barry University Professor Sean Foreman: “[Patrick Murphy] doesn’t have a lot of experience, he doesn’t have the experience at debating.” Patrick Murphy is not well-known outside of South Florida, he doesn’t have a lot of experience, he doesn’t have the experience debating, and there are questions about his depth on a number of issues. And so he absolutely needs to take advantage and get national media coverage for standing on stage with Marco Rubio.

Miami Herald’s Nancy Ancrum: “We were very disappointed when Patrick Murphy kind of wiggled out of having a debate with Alan Grayson… He cannot run from a debate.” We were very disappointed when Patrick Murphy kind of wiggled out of having a debate with Alan Grayson, using a very weak excuse about domestic violence allegations. And you know, I was looking for the nexus, and I thought, oh the nexus is – he doesn’t want to do this. He cannot run from a debate. He does not have any kind of depth of experience, even though he is an elected Representative, and he needs to hone those chops and also show us who he is.

WPLG Guest Panelist Marlon Hill: “[Patrick Murphy] needs to step up his game.” He needs to step up his game. This is now show time, for the next couple months. So whether it’s six debates, four debates, three debates, he better get preparation.
