The youth wing of the UK Independence Party has launched Donald Trump-like ‘Make Britain Great Again’ hats at the party’s annual conference in Bournemouth this weekend. The Make Britain Great Again caps – which will be on sale for £10 at the ‘Young Independence’ stall at the conference – are modelled on U.S. Presidential candidate Donald Trump’s famous “Make America Great Again” campaign slogan that he in turn borrowed from President Bill Clinton, who himself borrowed it from President Ronald Reagan. Young Independence Chairman Jamie Ross McKenzie told Breitbart London: “There’s been too much self-doubt as a country since the Brexit vote. This is our time to shine. We wanted to create something that showed the wearer’s confidence in Britain, that they believed Britain could and would prosper as a free country once again. The idea came when I saw Nigel speak at the Trump rally. Sometimes the best and boldest ideas are the simplest”. But the hats will no doubt irk some at the UKIP conference including the party’s only Member of Parliament, Douglas Carswell, who has made clear his disdain for the Republican Party nominee, leading to Young Independence members labelling Mr. Carswell a “cuck” or “wet” –
