The Islamwatch website being launched today by Flemish nationalists aims to report, map and monitor the gradual ‘Islamisation’ of Flanders. The populist Vlaams Belang (Flemish Interest – VB) party is today launching the Islamwatch website in Belgium. The party is a member of Marine Le Pen’s political block in the European Parliament, the Europe of Nations and Freedom Group. According to VB’s press release the aim of the new online platform is to monitor the Islamisation of the country through the submission of reports of such signs as a new neighbourhood mosque, active Islamic organisations, a newly-opened halal butcher’s shop, sex-segregated swimming, or veiled shop assistants and teachers. “It is important that these facts are recorded and mapped,” said leading VB Member of Parliament Filip Dewinter (pictured), “that way we can see how the Islamisation of our cities and communities is evolving and growing to then respond appropriately.” Mr. Dewinter also identified Belgium’s “open borders policy” and extremely lax attitude towards defending cultural values and norms as reasons for terrorism in his country, adding: “Without mass immigration no Islamisation, without Islamisation no Islamic terror.” The website has been criticised by anti-racism campaigners, according to EurActiv. The European Network Against Racism (ENAR), which represents 150 groups from across the European Union (EU) described it as a “denunciation website” and

German Welfare Spending ‘A Ticking Time Bomb’ That Could K.O. The Balanced Budget
Germany’s welfare spending is reaching record levels with further uncontrollable growth predicted, a budget spokesman in Chancellor Angela Merkel’s governing coalition warned. Welfare spending in Germany accounted for 27.2 percent of the total government budget in 1990, and 38 per cent in 1995. However, with enhanced social security benefits recently announced in an atmosphere of record-low unemployment, rising wages and steady economic growth, it is expected to leap by more than 1.5 per cent (almost €10 billion) in 2017 to €171.1 billion. That equates to 52.6 per cent of the overall federal budget (fractionally below 2010’s peak of 53.8 per cent). Adding interest payments to the bill raises the expenditure to 55.8 per cent, a new all-time record reports German news website N24. “The development of the social security benefit ratio is problematic,” said Eckhardt Rehberg (pictured above, with Chancellor Merkel), a Bundestag member and budget specialist in Chancellor Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union told Reuters. He added: “We need to watch out that we don’t establish a trend by setting the wrong course that comes back to bite us the next time the economy takes a downturn or in the long run.” Specifically the German government agreed in March to the biggest state pension uplift in more than two decades, as well as raised housing allowances, enhanced
Bank Of America Bans Use Of Word ‘Brexit’, Reverses Decision To Donate To Remain Campaign
Bank of America has told its senior staff not to use the word ‘Brexit’ when talking with clients in an attempt to avoid the debate over the UK’s membership of the European Union (EU). Bank of America (BofA) — a multinational banking and financial services corporation — last week warned its managers “not to provide opinions, not to influence voters, not to assume a particular result and not to engage in campaigning” ahead of Britain’s referendum in June on whether to leave the EU, reports the Financial Times. It has been explained that the bank’s advice is “not an attempt to muzzle or control staff” but instead an attempt to avoid the limelight shone on some other corporate backers, and to respect UK electoral law. As such BofA has also reversed its position on financing the pro-EU Remain campaign. Following the lead of Goldman Sachs — the investment bank which in January donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to those fighting to keep the UK in the EU — BofA announced in February it had made plans to donate nearly £100,000 to the campaign for Britain to stay in the EU. In doing so they would have lined up with other U.S. banking giants such as JPMorgan Chase and
Slick Willie’s Brexit Advice: Don’t Pull Out
Bill Clinton has advised British voters to reject Brexit in June’s European Union (EU) referendum, warning that Northern Ireland stands to get “whacked” in the event of withdrawal. The former President of the United States, now a full time campaigner for his wife’s presidential bid, intervened in the Brexit debate during an event at which he received a lifetime achievement award for his part in the Northern Ireland peace process, reports The Telegraph. “It’s Northern Ireland that will really get whacked if Britain withdrew from the European Union,” he said, “and I hope they don’t because it’s too easy to believe that the only solution to the problems in the world is to hunker down.” Mr. Clinton added that it is “too easy to turn away but it’s better to find a way to go forward”. Speaking in New York near the centenary of the Irish Easter Uprising, Mr. Clinton said the “lessons of 1916” can teach the public much about the world in 2016. He explained: “It’s a dangerous world out there. It’s easy to turn away, but it’s better to find a way to move forward because the enemies of freedom, the people who don’t believe in diversity, will always find a way to pierce
Police Investigate Man For ‘Revenge Fart’ After Woman Rejected Sexual Advances
A man has been reported to police for emitting what has been described as a “revenge fart” after a woman refused to have sex with him. The frustrated lothario resorted to employing his putrid “revenge fart” in a woman’s private apartment on Sunday, reports Swedish regional newspaper Hallandsposten. The pair had discussed having sex, but after the woman exercised her right to say no her potential lover let rip with a cloud of noxious gas. The alleged “revenge fart” was so bad that the woman was compelled to contact police in the historic southwestern city of Laholm. The victim of the gassy blast has not been named but told police she was so disgusted by the rancid odour — which she said “smelled very bad in my flat” — that it actually “disturbed her peace of mind”. Hallandsposten has since reported that police inquiries into the flatulent matter have ended with no further action, as Chief Investigator Kenneth Persson said it cannot be proved that the man intentionally expelled his rotten stench. Prominent Business Leader Predicts ‘Massive Economic Problems’ If Britain Remains In EU
Voting to remain in the European Union would be “very bad news for the future of humanity” leaving Britain exposed to the sort of economic mess seen in mainland Europe, a prominent business leader has warned. Tim Martin — the founder and Non-Executive Chairman of the FTSE 250 pub company JD Wetherspoon PLC — made the comments in an interview with the BBC, during which he warned about the undemocratic nature of the European Union (EU). “Democracy equals prosperity,” he said, “and slowly democracy is being removed by the European Union, and power is being put in the hands of unelected people in Europe.” He observed that the effects of such moves are most keenly felt in Greece and Spain “where they don’t even have control over their own budget or over their own interest rates which are the key controls that a democratic country has.” Pointing out the result of doing away with democracy in this way, Mr. Martin explained: “Democracy has gone hand in hand with the highest level of prosperity for decades and decades and decades. “West Germany was much more successful economically than East Germany, South Korea is more successful than North Korea. North America is
Boris Johnson Urges Gay Voters To Back Brexit Amid EU ‘Threat’ To Rights
London Mayor Boris Johnson has been accused of “scaremongering” after urging gay voters to back Brexit because their rights are under threat across much of the European Union (EU). Mr. Johnson — one of the most senior and doubtless the most prominent of Tory Brexit campaigners — was lending his support to the new Out and Proud campaign group, recently established to make the LGBT case for voting to leave the EU in June’s referendum. In a video address played to the group’s first meeting Mr. Johnson celebrates Britain having “the most progressive attitudes towards LGBT issues anywhere in the world,” describing it as “a wonderful thing to see.” He then asks “did those rights, those freedoms, that spirit come from the EU? Or did it come form people campaigning in our courts, our parliament?” “It was us,” he states, “the British people that created that environment of happiness and contentment for LGBT people and it is absolutely vital that we fight for those rights today because they are under threat in Poland, in Hungary, in Romania and other parts of the EU where they are not protected in the way they are in our country.” The Liberal Democrat peer and gay rights campaigner Lord Paddick attacked Mr. Johnson’s claims
Climate Alarmists Join Project Fear, Warn Brexit Will Harm Global Climate Change Efforts
Adding another alarmist voice to the Brexit debate, the Chairman of the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) has warned that Britain voting to leave the European Union (EU) poses a major threat to global environmental efforts. Green industry tycoon, Lord Deben (John Selwyn Gummer, pictured), was the keynote speaker at an Institute for Public Policy Research conference in London late last week entitled ‘The Path from Paris: The Implications of the Paris Climate Agreement for UK Policy and Business’, BusinessGreen reports. He used his speech to sound a note of alarm to those present about the harm Brexit would have on efforts to combat climate change through EU action on slashing carbon emissions, saying: “I’m quite clear that if Britain left the European Union it would put this back, as far as us and the rest of the European Union, very, very considerably. “Brexit is a real threat to Paris, and we have to accept that because we cannot allow ourselves to go backwards in the mechanisms which we have created for working together.” Turning his fire on Eurosceptics by using the inflammatory language of environmental activists, the former Tory environment minister implied that many would be relaxed about such an outcome, saying: “I note that most climate
Special Forces And Police On Standby For Multiple Terror Attacks In London
The Metropolitan Police and special forces troops from the SAS regiment have been told to prepare their response for up to 10 simultaneous terror attacks on the streets of the British capital. It is understood that the security services are concerned that Islamist terrorists returning from Syria with military training could attempt to execute multiple attacks across London, similar to those seen in Paris in November 2015. In doing so, the attackers would force authorities to spread resources across the city. The Sunday Times reports that army regiments from outside London are now readying themselves to be deployed to assist the SAS and Metropolitan Police in the event of a Paris-style multiple target attack. A minister said that preparations are now in place for such an eventuality, explaining: “We used to plan for three simultaneous attacks but Paris has shown that you need to be ready for more than that. We are ready if someone tries with seven, eight, nine, ten.” In another part of the coordinated response, the National Crime Agency has been instructed to prioritise a crackdown on illegal firearms to limit their availability for use in a Paris-style terrorist attack by trained jihadists. It is also reported that the army’s counter-terrorist bomb disposal unit is building
Shots Fired At Police In Brussels During Search Linked To Paris Attacks
Belgian prosecutors have announced shots were today fired at police in Belgium’s capital city, Brussels, as they carried out a major counter-terror operation linked to November’s Islamist Paris attacks. Federal prosecutor spokesman, Eric Van Der Sypt, announced police were fired at, but other than confirming that the search in the southern Forest district was “linked to the Paris attacks investigation” was unable to give further details for the time being. The Forest district is close to the troubled Molenbeek district of Brussels which was visited by Breitbart London last year. Police operations seeking out Brussels-based Islamists associated with the Paris attacks have focused on the area. Since November 11 arrests linked to the Paris attacks have taken place in Belgium. Of those arrested eight are still detained but two major suspects, Salah Abdeslam and Mohamed Abrini, both from Molenbeek, remain on the run. French police sources say Abdeslam was not the target of today’s raid. A police spokeswoman originally said one police officer had been injured slightly in today’s raid, which included French police officers, but that number has now risen to four. It was not said whether their injuries are a result of gunfire. The operation is ongoing as police block nearby roads. Two suspects were on the run after the incident and a Kalashnikov
