Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina declared that Planned Parenthood has “preyed on, poor communities of color” and “progressive policies have failed women, just as they have failed the African-American community” on Friday’s “Mornings with Maria” on the Fox Business Network. Fiorina said, [relevant remarks begin around 3:15] “You know, I’m a conservative, Maria, because I know that no one of us is any better than any other one of us. Each one of us has God-given gifts. Every one of us has the capacity to live a life of dignity and purpose and meaning. Progressive policies have failed so many communities, and in particular, progressive policies have failed African-American communities. And so, we need to provide the opportunities, in every community, for someone to find and use their God-given gifts. It’s why it’s important to get this economy going and growing again. We have to, in particular, disentangle people’s lives

‘Man from U.N.C.L.E.’ Review: Never Kicks Into Gear
The opening sequence of director Guy Ritchie’s “Man from U.N.C.L.E.” is promising — a clever, action-filled chase through East Berlin as American agent Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) attempts to get his cool and quippy self and Alicia Vikander (Gaby Teller) into the safety of West Berlin. Hot on their heels is Russian KGB agent Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer), whose bulk and brooding determination is its own kind of super power. Both men are exceptionally capable and cucumber-cool under pressure, and anyone familiar with the source material (which may not be too many of you considering the television show was cancelled almost 50 years ago) knows that Solo and Kuryakin are destined to become unlikely American and Russian superspy-partners. Unlikely because the year is 1963 and the war is cold. As I said, the opening is promising, which means it is not great, and yet it is still the best part
Jeb Bush Heckled over Iraq War: ‘Your Brother Signed a Bad Deal’
Friday, at the Des Moines Register‘s Soapbox at the Iowa State Fair, Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush was heckled over his brother, former President George W. Bush’s Iraq War policies. When Jeb attempted to criticize the withdrawal of all combat troops from Iraq by the Obama administration, a heckler in the crowd yelled, “We had to get out in 2011!” Jeb shot back, “We didn’t have to get out in 2011,” The heckler screamed, “Your brother signed the deal!” Bush said, “It could have been modified, and that was the expectation. Everybody in Iraq, and everybody in Washington knew that this deal could have been expanded. And now what we need to do–” The heckler interrupted again, yelling, “Your brother signed a bad deal!” Bush added, “–now, now we need to do something else.” Follow Pam Key On Twitter @pamkeyNEN
Rubio: Clinton’s Team Committed A Crime If It Stripped Classification Markings
Friday on the Fox New Channel’s “America’s Newsroom w/Bill Hemmer and Martha MacCallum,” Senator and presidential candidate Marco Rubio (R-FL) said if anyone on Hillary Clinton’s team erased the classification marking on her email, they committed a crime. In light of the latest revelations that top secret information was in two of the four emails that contained classified information out of a sample of forty, on Hillary Clinton’s private email server, her campaign claimed that, “no information in her emails was marked classified at the time.” Wednesday, Clinton campaign communications director Jennifer Palmieri said, “Hillary only used her personal account for unclassified email. No information in her emails was marked classified at the time she sent or received them.” At around the five-minute mark, Rubio pointed out that if the markings were stripped, it would be a serious crime, saying, “when you see a classified document, it is very clearly marked…and you
Is Trump a Serious Candidate?
With Donald Trump’s shocking resilience in national and state polls despite his myriad blunders and rhetorical vulgarities, commentators struggle for verbiage with which to disqualify him. There’s one adjective that seems to appear with particular regularity among a certain subset of Trump critics: unserious.
